A 10-member delegation from Academy of Commerce of Yunnan province, China, visited Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad on December 1, 2016 and signed an MoU for institutional cooperation and collaboration.
Citing the overwhelming influence of foreign narratives and ideals in research being produced in Pakistan, IPS LEAD – the learning, excellence and development program of IPS – organized a consultative meeting ‘Indigenizing Policy Research’ on August 18, 2016.
It is important for a researcher in Pakistan to get his research published in an international journal but it is more important that the research being produced is also useful for our country and the society as well. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has done a great job by increasing the research output of the country’s universities quantitatively however there is a lot to be done on the qualitative side.
