Delegation of Turkish students

A delegation of Turkish students, who were visiting Pakistan as part of a student exchange program, visited IPS on September 22, 2016.

Citing the overwhelming influence of foreign narratives and ideals in research being produced in Pakistan, IPS LEAD – the learning, excellence and development program of IPS – organized a  consultative meeting ‘Indigenizing Policy Research’ on August 18, 2016.

brainstIt is important for a researcher in Pakistan to get his research published in an international journal but it is more important that the research being produced is also useful for our country and the society as well. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has done a great job by increasing the research output of the country’s universities quantitatively however there is a lot to be done on the qualitative side.

Workshops on 'Citizen Journalism'

citizenIPS LEAD - the Learning, Excellence and Development Program of Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), Islamabad, in collaboration with Pakistan Youth Change Advocates (PYCA), organized a couple of two-day workshops on 'Citizen Journalism', for male and female students of media sciences/mass communication separately, on July 28-29 and August 1-2, 2016.

Clarification Regarding IPS’ Old F-7 Building Controversy

ipslDuring the meeting of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) today, 25 May 2016, in which an inquiry against CDA’s conduct is being carried out a controversy has been raised with the presentation/statement of CDA’s member planning and the remarks of the PAC chairman and some of its members about the previous office building of Institute of Policy Studies (IPS), which was situated in F-7 markaz, Islamabad. A clarification on this issue is as under:
